Hi,
I am visiting Durham this summer and I would use this time to go fishing but I dont no where. I saw that Seaham has a harbour but I also read that you will need to join a club to gain access to the piers. But that will not be suitable for me. Are there other places to go maybe some beaches or so ?
Another maybe global question what for permission do I need generally in the UK if I want to go fishing? I have heard that I will need an rod licence for the fresh water do I also need it for the saltwater.
Thanks a lot

Lots of good marks on the Durham coast Christian, as far as piers go there's Roker pier at the North end of Sunderland, or you could go down to Hartlepool just North of the river Tees. The trouble is, if your'e in a car, be careful where you leave it. her Majesty's Prison Service have some very good customers from those areas! |

you dont need to be a member oft he seaham club to fish the south pier or the hall beach, which are good marks, but pretty rough ground, apart from roker pier you also have the rat house which is about 500yds south of roker pier |
