Fished aboard the "Seafire" from Watchet harbour this morning from around 5am for an 8 hour charter. Myself and several friends had an excellent day aboard this boat. The weather was excellent and the Channel was like a millpond. The Skipper Shaun Anning put us among the fish straight away about 15 minutes outside the harbour. We took a 10lb Thornback Ray and several small Conger. Moving on to a deeper mark around slack water i netted myself my first ever Smoothound of 14lb to my delight. A Conger of around 20lb was also taken at this mark as well as many smaller Thornbacks the biggest being around 8lb. We moved back closer inshore as the tide started to run where we finished off being plagued by doggies! Several smaller Conger of around 6lb were also caught. An excellent days fishing as many on board were beginners who throughly enjoyed themselves. I would fully reccomend this boat to anyone who would like to fish this area. Tight Lines, Mike Roberts.
My 14lb Smoothound
8lb Thornback Ray
My 10lb Thornback Ray
20lb Class Conger
Just before first lines went down at around 5:30am

Well done boys, nice to see you had a good day. Seems people hardly ever blank out on the Bristol Channel. |
