Dad, Wife and I decided to fish Woodside this morning at a mark that we had not fished for many years.

Picked up our freshly dug rag form Barneys in Cowes at 08:30 and set off in glorious sunshine with some peeler crab and squid for company to fish the last few hours of the flood.

We arrived at our mark and got 4 rods setup very quickly with a variety of rigs (3 hook flappers, pennell pulley and a 2 hook running ledger).

I had the first bite of the day on the very first cast using my zzippy with a pennell pulley rig baited with peeler crab, to my disgust it was only this:-

We soon got fed up due to the amount of weed that there was here, so we packed up just before high water but not before the wife managed to land a small school bass and headed of to a new location to fish the ebb.

We settled on the Gas Works on the River Medina, there still looked like there was a lot of weed about but we got set up and chucked the 4 rods out.

Dad had the first bite but it did not come to anything, to be honest I can not believe that he missed it!

I then managed to land a small school bass on my greys bass rod that was rigged with a 3 hook flapper and baited with rag.

Soon after whilst watching my zzippy I turned just in time to see a great bite, it looked like a good size bass had had ago at the rag.

I landed this 2.7lb bass soon after, catching the only decent fish of the day.

Lets hope the weather stays as good over the next few days and there are more bass around.
