A busy 6 hour session at the Mumbles Pier, Swansea. Despite a driving wind all day long, I took 24 dogfish and 5 small whiting - so at least I had a bit of fun. All taken on squid using a pulley rig, but my other rod baited with black lug and ragworm (3 hook flapper rig) took nothing but a couple of little tickles all day long.

No signs of the cod... dabs and small whiting seem the norm' at the moment, the larger whiting coming from across the bay towards Aberavon.

Strap conger also taken on the pier today, but dogfish beating everything else to the bait.

Nice to see that there are actually still some fish in the sea!! Sounds like a good session.

Yes, great fun Dunc' but I was sick of the sight of dogfish after a while and I stopped using the one rod for an hour just to have a break from 'em. My son penneled a whole whiting and a greedy doggy even took that

At least it was a dry day.... the rain in this neck of the woods has been virtually non stop for a couple of weeks now.

At least you've got some proper weather. I'm in the middle of London at the end of November, and able to stand outside in my shirtsleeves to have a fag at 11 at night!!

sounds like a great session, don't knock the dogfish, I'd love to be ina position where catching becomes tedious

Well, I'm going to give the Mumbles another bash soon, and hopefully it'll be codling and whiting that I'll be sick of now that the temperature is dropping
