Please let me make my position perfectly clear once and for all.

My name has been mentioned on other fishing sites with a view to me joining their particular site.

First I have not intention of leaving this site unless its in a BOX!!!

Second I have no intention of joining any other site contarary to what others may think. angry

Third I take particular exception to the term "Poaching Members". angry

Members of this site must remember that any site does not make headway by having any particular person on board, but by its content and friendliness. big hug

It does seem clear that some groups did leave this site for what ever reasons confused

and it has also become very clear they have to come here to try and poach members to increase their own forum numbers.
Totally underhanded suprise

and maybe they should find more legitimate ways of promoting their site!

i have heard of this going on too its blinking ridiculous (poachin members)

Tom and i are members of 3 sites for fishing and do NOT mention either of the others on each!

we find each site offers a different view or aspect on whichever topic you are on! opinions are great but to try to "steal " members away is funny! its your choice to go seek your info whereever you wish !

grow up guys n gals!! its the internet!!

by the way i dont mean you lot !! lol

well said sue ,poaching members is pathetic ,but some members like you should be honest enough to admit looking or being members of other sites or being asked on as a "guest" and then denying it, shamefull, i am a member of another site but have never used it to "poach" other members nor will i use this site either ,rant over big grin

There is nothing wrong with other forums, I guess they can only do good for the sport of sea fishing, but when their members try and pull these stunts suprise

Some people just lack a bit of decency unfortunately.

Hi all. I have not been on this site long. When I was looking for a site to use, I joined every site i could find. I used the same user name on all of them, There are now only two sites I use. this one manly. Because I like all you guys (think your a great bunch love struck

). Other sites are very clicky. What a good day it was when I meet you all in Fleetwood. The other site I use is the Toury casting site, for advice as I find them very helpful even answering the daft things I ask. But for general chat and the crack, this is the best. big grin

We are basically just a sea fishing site nothing more nothing less. We never confess to being the best and would certainly never try to poach or entice members to join from other forums. We do enforce a few basic rules that have been in place since 2004. Starting out as a new forum rules are not really necessary, but as membership numbers grow, generally rules have to be put in place for the best of everyone as it is in any large community of whatever group / hobby.

This site is the best by quite some way and judging by the membership numbers, the reason for this is obviously the way it is run.
Well done Mrix and the Mods. big grin

As for other sites needing to poach members, they should look to themselves, after all if they were as good as they think they are then they wouldn't need to entice people to join them.

Totally agree Bucko.........this is the best site, cool members, loads of good info/tips/venues ect, nice friendly atmospher and to top it all it is run in a very profesional way which must be hard work but the team seem to enjoy looking after us........great job

As for poatching, dont think any other site has the qualities .....dont think you will loose anyone to another site.....anyway whos gona complain if any members or managment join another site.....its a free contry and we all fish diferent venues so we can join different sites

Rabbi...if you wana join a nother site I dont mind......as long as you dont leave this one thats fine by me.....and if you do please let me know where you are going

Someone needs to keep an eye on you ...lol suprise

Keep up the good work you lot........hey may be out this week again getting you some new members......fishing first though
