bassfly,
I am working on matching up a outfit for shore salt water flyfishing, and came across the Vision Fly lines series. I will be fishing in Estonia this November, and will be doing a couple of days on the Sea.
The trend in shore fishing here has moved toward 11 ft rods that load a 9/10 flyline in order to use larger patterns, and cast into winds. At present I am looking at either the Beulah Surf Rod or the Loomis Cross Current Saltwater
Rod. In choosing the flyline, I need to be sure it is made for cold water. My favorite here is Rio lines. Vision has a better shaped head in the floating Salt
water line, but is very pricey(65 Euros) and has a pink running line. I haven't
figured out that one yet.
Any advice would be appreciated.
Tight lines

mick,
Thanks for reply. What I am trying to do is come up with something that is a reasonable cost, and is user friendly. Yes, the 11' rods are designed for Salt Water fly Fishing, using the overhand cast. They are sort of a scaled down Spey Rod. I will be testing out one down in Oregon in August. Echo also
makes a similar rod at a lower price, but I am not sure if they come in a 11' size. Funny, because the other Rajiff is involved in Echo, while Steve has Loomis. I am also doing reels as well, and will post more on that.
Hopefully, I will be able to spend some time in UK doing some shore fishing, and maybe knocking back a few pints with some fellow anglers.
tight lines, and windless days,

sorry, I must have had a brain cramp when I typed that one. I was referring to Steve Rajeff and his connection to Loomis and his brother Tim Rajeff and his involvement with Echo. Tim may well be the more inventive, and produces a good rod in the moderate price range. Hope this clears up my previous post. Thanks for pointing out.
tight lines,
