Woke up unusually early on sunday morning and couldn't get back to sleep so decided to check tide times to see if a last minute fishing trip was a possibility, got luck so headed out dug enought bait for the day and headed down to my fav summer mark using freshly dug rag and some squid i had in the freezer.
Turned out to be a great day 13 Cod in total, 12 small ones (ranging from tiny to about 1lb) and a 2 1/2 lb fish all returned to fight another day, one doggie and the smallest flatie i have ever see 2 inches if i am lucky.
Best day so far after returning to the sport after about 3 years away.
Just wondering if any one else in the Inverclyde are has had any luck with their fishing as everyone i have spoke to have said they have been getting nothing, and would apear that i got very lucky. |

Well done Andy. Its good to see that the cod are making a comeback in the upper clyde and if more anglers followed your example of putting them back they might keep increasing their numbers.
I used to catch numbers like that in th 60's and 70's from Fairlie all the way up to Gourock.
Jeez, just realised how old I'm getting.
