Anyone know anything about these rods???? I'm looking at getting a new 13ft beach rod as my old rod was an Abu Elite and was a little too heavy for the fishing i wanted to do

They look like good value once you get past the fact its a shakespeare.... Also i like that it comes with a reducer as i like to cast with the reel in a low position

I should think so.There a well made Rod and as for distance that would depend on the individual and reel..but a good 100yds would be easy.
Remember distance is not everything..

I had the same problem as you Pinky with an abhorance of anything Shakespeare after seeing rods and reels litteraly fall apart on me during the 70s and 80s .
After using a mates salt bass rod I was so impressed I went out and bought one . Then I thought Id try a salt beach caster . I`m more than very happy with it . The finish , quality of the fittings and all round feel of the rod are not what I have come to expect from Shakespeare , they are superb . If the lable said Greys most people would happily part with £120 plus for these rods .
Put aside your anti Shakespeare predudice and get one (or 2) you wont be disapointed .

I have an MX as a backup rod but I may start using it alot more after seeing all the posts about Sonik SK3's snapping.

Its a nice stiff rod, well conpared to all my other rods, and yes you can MULLER it over 100 yards.

Really really good Price and its a rod with a reducer which I like.

If you have a look at them closely you will see that they have a decent thickness of carbon fibre unlike the Soniks. Be careful though when looking around, some tackle shops over charge for them.
