Yes and no .... some parts are interchangeable, some not ..... its not as simple as you think.

A 6500 CT cage will pretty much fit anything .... the spool may be a little more complicated. Is the old rocket a fixed spindle (MK1) model or was it the ultracast version (MK2 on)?

If you are just looking to put a new cage on fine, a fixed spindle spool will need the correct or a modified part as spindle lengths and diameters varied with models - an ultracast spool will fit but you will need to make sure you have the appropriate fittings to the spool (ie brake pin assembly) otherwise it may not fit.

If you want to convert a fixed spindle spool model over to an ultracast version spool then it will get a bit more complicated (and expensive) - but totally possible. Basically more info required.

There are plenty of mags about and what you choose will depend on what you want to use it for. Centre mags are generally considered as for grass use only as they can cause bearing compression, knobbys are good for both but you may want to use blocks as well (especially when fishing) as they only have one magnet. The plus point with a Knobby is you don't have to remove the click ratchet unless you want to (handy for fishing for the bigger stuff IMHO).

If you want to lose the ratchet, and therefore the big nylon cog on the end of the spool which acts as a paddlewheel and slows the reel, you will need a replacement bullet on that end of the reel but these are readily available.

Best advice I can give is to do a search on Google for "abu knobby mags" or "abu mag conversions" and have a look at what is available, there are a number of people making them .... I've also seen some on ebay so thats often worth a look. The only thing I would say is that a lot of them have aluminium parts so if you intend to use it for fishing you'll need to make sure they are well greased and regularly cleaned to keep them working smoothly .... a good search will probably point you to a wealth of info on various forums relating to the different suppliers and what they have to offer.
