hi all not fished for a while, but changes to my work shifts mean that i will be able to get out more .
im fairly amature at this. im looking at gettin some kit together.
im looking for some decent waterproof kit. im not gonna fish in real bad weather and most of my fishing will be solent marks that are safe so dont think i need a full on flotation suit.
im looking at a mustard bib n brace and either the 4 seasons or seafarer smock.
are there any good??
on a bit of a budget (wedding to pay for) |

Hi mate
I too bought the mustad 4 seasons bib and brace and the jacket, well impressed with the warmth and "freedom" to move around
got them brand new off ebay,£40 plus postage
Having been so pleased with them i also bought a pair of seafarer boots, also mustad, they really support your feet on both sand and shingle and as they are"thinsulate" lined, keep the feet nice and warm
seen them on ebay too, around £20 plus postage, got mine from a tackle shop for £25.......they were marked up at £39.99...bargain!
hope this helps,regards Darren |

I don't use the standard stuff offered by tackle shops etc. Instead I have a pair of Lidl snowboarder trousers (thermal lining and waterproof) which cost me £10. Also one of their waterproof ski jackets (£15) over a good thick fleece. No problem keeping warm and dry down to minus 5 so far. |

thanks for the replys, sounds like theyll do the job.
does the 4 seasons jacket have a removable lining etc to make it less hot in the warmer months. i assume it does or it doesnt make it 4 seasons!!
anyone know if the trousers are long leg?? im 6'6" |

i got the mustad 4 season 2 weeks ago and find it very good. i work outdoors and brought it with me a few days to try it out as the weather was pretty bad. i was out in lashing rain and winds gusting to 70 knots for about 6 hours and not a drop of water got in.
i used it fishing twice, first was in rain, it held up well. second was in light snow and -2. i had a track suit pants on under the leggings and 2 tshirts and a hoody under the top and i was pretty warm. forgot my thermal socks tho so my toes were about to crack off by time i got back to the car.
it doesnt have any insulation in it. its like that so in cold weather you put on a few light layers, and in summer you put on just a t shirt and shorts with it. havent used it in warm weather yet so cant comment on it for that but in cold/wet conditions its brilliant.
im gonna get another one for work as the stuff i get supplied with is pretty crap.
im 5'8 and got the large but find it a little big. i had to do the braces on the legs up tight so the bottoms werent rubbing off the floor. the jacket is big on me but i dont mind it except that the pockets are a little too low on it for my hands to reach properly. gonna get the medium size for work. |
