Hi all,

After some more advice around the strength of line for rigs to be used on rocky areas (around Flamborough for instance).

Am I correct in thinking that I should beef up the rig body and snoods to allow for more abrasion from the rocks?

I have been using rigs with a body of 50lb and 20lb snoods on Brid South harbour wall and the Humber wall.

I have 70lb rig line and some 30lb snood coming. should I make a load of rigs using this stuff or am I being OTT.

Also what rigs work well around Flamborough?

TIA

Tightlines

Hello Ace, I regularly use a pulley rig on rough ground 70lb rig body and 30lb snoods are about right. If you decide to use a rotten bottom rig then just put a gemini link clip on the bottom upside down to the normal way, you can then just tie some 8lb line to the eye of the link and the lead, and then hook the lead on to the clip. The advantage of this is that you dont have to specially make rotten bottom rigs any more. ( dont try to pendulum cast )big grin

Hi, I agree with Bucko, I mostly use pulley rigs 60 - 70LB body and 20 -30Lb snoods when I fish the rock marks on Anglesey. Some of the rocks there are sharp enough to rid you of whiskers...

Good luck,

Fishytroll.
