| The best rod blank + crap rings = unuseable rod. In the adverts they say "super hard lined rings" what they don`t say is "if the rod gets blown over they`ll shatter into a million pieces" leaving your new £200 rod useless. Do we need a `Rubbish rings , don`t buy one' sticky somewhere for people looking for a new rod. |

I suppose you mean the k2 and unfortunately I have to agree. I contemplated re-ringing the rod myself but because I have it up for sale I have refrained from doing so as this may distract the value with some perspective buyers, even though I can do the job to perfection. keith |

| Its a shame that the rod review section is not used to its full potential. Mores the pity as it would help members avoid some of the pitfalls of starting up or even upgrading for that matter. keith |

I think that theres a lot more than the k2 with dodgy rings rab !
The main problem with a review is the fact its on shiny new tackle which ought to be sound and not a rod that has stood the test of time. Would anyone take a new rod out of the bag, set it up and kick the rod rest over a dozen times to `shingle test' it ? Apparently not the manufacturers ! |

I've put a few bits of my tackle up in the reviews - Keith has got a good point about reviewing brand new tackle though. It would be good to see a lot more reviews up there so we don't need to spend £3.50 on a mag to see what someone has been paid to say.
I've got a Century rod with Fuji BNHG rings, apart from one being bent between my boot and a concrete step the rest are fine - I bought the rod 2nd hand about 18 months ago and it had seen a good few harbour walls before that judging by the scratches. |
