Hi, i keep reading about gutted and frozen lugworm, can anybody explain how you gut a lugworm (the mind boggles)? |

i just squeze them out through the head (fat end ) from the tail end

| I believe it is only the large black lug that is worth gutting, the type you get from the tackle shop rolled up in newspaper and not the smaller common blow lug that most people dig. |

interesting.
I take it you just fridge and don't freeze the salted lug.
I read in 'SEA ANGLER' that match anglers are very successful with gutted lug as they give off a stronger scent. having been a freshwater match angler for many years i spent many many hours breeding and preparing bait, i even sorted my home breed worms into 4 different sizes for quick baiting. so i can understand people spending hours gutting worms, it is not always easy to get black lug though |

i gut my yellow tails
they keep better and dont squirt their juices at you when you hook them
