Anyone come across these little lures? I picked them up from my local tackle shop. I think they are designed for the coarse angler. I picked them up with a view to making my own mackerel traces.

| Hi Jim its just that I saw them in my mates tackle shop and I thought that they would stand up to the rigours of mackrel bashing and be able to use them over and over again. At £4.50p for 6 on a card it won't break the bank. |

| My father used to make his own mackerel lures with the outer white plastic coating for electricity cable. He would strip out the inner wire and just use the outer bit. It worked. I suppose mackerel will go for most things. We didn't spend a lot of money on kit - just used what we could find most of the time. He even made his own lead weights on the gas stove!!! I am sure that would not be allowed these days with 'elf and safety. |

I have found that the most productive time are about 2hrs before high water and 2 hours after. After saying this different areas fish diferently especiall what we call low water marks. Cheers keith |
