I've got 2 challenges this year, 1 is to catch some of the more obscure species (Tope, Stingers, Trigger fish ect) and the other is to catch as many species as I can over the year.
This Sunday night I'm targeting Rays, Thornies, small eye spoties, undulate. Where's is a good venue on the south coast to try for such creatures, what baits, distances, rigs ect.
I caught them off the shore before, but all my old spots have not yet produced any.

i dunno where to start wi that question. very generally imho.
southbourne- sandeel or sandeel/squid , undulates have shown recently, smalleye should be about soon ,slim chance of a spotty.
hordle-highcliffe-avon beach, baits as above , smalleye as main target.
west solent-(lymington- calshot) fish/squid/worm/crab baits, thornies most likely if still about, v,slim chance of stingers to worm but a bit early i recon.
sotton water , poss thornies from the deeper venues to worm/crab &fish baits.
east solent, warsash- lee-on... worm/squid/sandeel,crab, thornies, v,slim chance of stinger.
lee on....- kicker , baits as above, thornie , smalleye, chance of spotty from kicker, also heard of a stinger from there recently.
