I have tried a few of the aditives with very little difference than normal baits. I mixed all of them together lug, mackerel, herring and fish guts and my catch rate did increase slightlybut the SMELL! was something else. |

I have tried to make up 'potions' using various oils including the film canisters as rubby dubby containers, I could not say that they worked or not, it may just have been the fish were biting anyway. What I can say, my latest trick, but, by no means a new one is to buy squid [normally from Tesco's] open them up & fill them with a mixture, old lug fish etc, then use them as bait tied up with shearing elastic, they do attract some species, I am hoping that the bass will show more of an interest.

i have never tried additives
how do you know they work the fish cant tell you
they are made for us to smell and all they catch is us when we spend our cash on them
if you want a good smelly bait that does work leave your lug untill its dead and smelly and the flatties love it , except your missus wont love you when you get home small price to pay |

The price depends on your missus Shannock and sometimes that price is extortionate, I've tried quite a few and have never yet managed to find one where there is only a small price to pay. Methinks you struck lucky and don't realise what a bit of smelly lug costs the rest of us, why do you think I mainly go spinning? |
