Following The Dogman's recent posts, he has begged me to upload a photo of his rather fortunate catch.
He was considering changing his username to The Poutman, until this obviously senile, and probably blind Smoothound, accidently caught itself on his hook.
Of course i'm not bitter at all, but just wanted to encourage all those just starting out in sea fishing, that if The Dogman can catch a fish like this, then just think what's waiting out there for someone who knows what they're doing, and can cast more than 10 yards!
Unfortunately, even with my vast skills I have been catching mostly Pout, so have decided to specialise in these super and very rewarding little fish for the time being. ' '
Also, although I have not been catching much myself, my wife did get herself a rather nice conger last night. ' '
All the best
Zorba

That was indeed magazine lane a week ago. Had four little smoothounds, copuple of dogfish, a plaice and a flounder from there now, so seems quite goog for beginners such as myself.
Zorba has yet to catch anything bigger than a pout, save for his first ever cast when he pulled in a small plaice....but don't worry I have promised to give him a few pointers and shall certainly post his next record breaking catch on here.
........and as for his wife catching a conger last night....i think he means a minnow!
Sadly gotta go back to work now.
Cheers.
The Dogman. |

Dogman, it most certainly was a conger, and strangely enough it was not the first time she'd caught it this week!

I usually find a bunch of flowers as bait helps. |
