Some time ago I stated that I purchased a lot of my lead from the local tyre suppliers. Well guess what, due to some new fangled regulation garages have to start using new weights made from zinc. Needless to say these wont be of any use to you so buyer beware. keith in blackburn

try local roofers any off cuts etc made of lead ask for saves breaking your neck....... and going to hell for destroying the houses of god(lol)

Just found a new supplier My local gun club, It's a hell of a job seperating the lead from the sweepings up, but what the hell its for nowt. Now I am happy.

I never was one for heights but what I did do years ago was to break off the waste pipe from the outside of the houses, you know the one leading into the grid from over 500 houses in our street. I made a fortune. I even did my own house so that they wouldn't sus it was me. Ah for those long forgotten happy days. devil devil devil

As a roofing contractor, i don't have a problem with getting scrap lead to make my own sinkers.
