|
|
Will be in North Wales (Bangor area) for a week or so in a week or so's time (mid-May) - any tips for some spinning/plugging action around here?
I have difficulty walking as I am the proud (?) possessor of two metal knees, so easy-to-get-to site suggestions would be appreciated !!! Yeah, I know, everyone wants the easy spots but I REALLY do have problems OUCH !!!!! OUCH !!!! OUCH !!!!
Thanks, in anticipation - JIMBO |

Hi mate sorry it took me so long to get back to you, but had to get my gear ready for monday. Right
1 The flatledges opposite swellies rock.
2 The boat house 250 yds east of the swellies rock.
3 250 yds east of the Suspension bridge.
These may a bit of a problem for you so all I can really offer is the pier itself, which has shelter from the all the ellements with plenty of seating available.
Tackle size 1 to 1/0 hooks
Top bait peeler crab.
Speicies flounders, school bass, and a few sizeable codling.
Sorry I cant be more helpful but later on in the year things do really hot up. Tight Lines. keith |

| Bangor is situated on the mainland shore of the Menai Straits. The Menai Straits is an excellent place for Bass. What you need to do is go for a drive and see where is accessible as there are plenty of spots on both sides of the Straits. When your in Bangor go to the BASS Angling shop and have a word with Jeff the owner he knows the Straits like the back of his hand or pop to ABC in Beaumaris, Anglesey 10 Mins drive and talk to Malcolm he is a fishing mastermind. There is a good spot right by ABC Beaumaris called Gallows Point. The Swellies is the stretch of water between the Britannia and Menai Bridge, I've fished it a couple of times on the Anglesey side at low water and it is an uncomfortable place to fish due to the weed and rocks underfoot. |
