It was the realisation that, that last lightning bolt had come to ground at a point between me and my sinker, that had me packing my gear away more quickly than a rat flies up a drainpipe. And things had been going so well. Ten fish, although my eleven year old son had caught seven of them, and a bight every cast. The sea was flat calm, not even a hnt of a breeze, and my newly aquired Coleman lantern was doing a dam fine job of fighting off the encroaching darkness.
