crying
Bought a few Ragworm. I dont know what type (here theyre known as Hniex ta Parella). anyway i got them in a box with shallow sea water. I woke up this morning and theyre all dead. (water was murky brown/red) I kept them int he garden under the sink next to a well so it was pretty damp.

Thing is i'm going fishing tomorrow night (21st sept), will they be good dead or do i need a new batch?

you can put the rag in fresh sea water but only a little bit just enough to fill the bottom of the tray but not enough so it covers the rag also read in sea angler last month about it

i dig rag with a few of my freinds and sell to a couple of shops our rag is stored in water as b.b.m. says not covering them but just enough to keep them cold best emptied into trays with fresh salt water (i use cat litter trays)and make sure there are no broken ones, dead ones or green squidgy ones in the trays place in a cold (but not so cold that it freezes them) fridge (not the misses tho they tend not to like it) and check daily for broken/dead worms and remove them change the salt water for fresh salt water every 3-4 days (tip keep a bottle of salt water sourced from an area of sea not afected by fresh water such as streams in your fridge so it is the same temp as the water you are removing) and they can live for 2 weeks plus
also when digging in the "hot" summer months put salt water into your bucket it will make them easier to sort if you only need to keep them for a couple of days just wrap them in paper in tens then place in fridge as v.r.says they will last for around 2-3 days hope this helps big grin
