ive got a beach rite beside me but it is hard to fish coz theres sand then seaweed then more sand then stones. this continues all the way out to sea. i have seen a few anglers landin flatties but im looking to catch bass or mackerel but the beach is really annoying to fish from because you either get snagged on seaweed or lose your bait on stones. any help appreciated tougue tougue big grin winking

try your tackle shop and ask for leadlifters they will lift your rig soon as you reel in , also have a chat to them as they will know the beach and best tactics for you , just a question what beach is it ?

hi mate go into your account then your info then if ya fill in your location it will help people see where you are from also dont know what beach you mean but if they are catching flatties then im sure the bass and mackeral will also be there
try peelers or sandeels for the bass or even get some lures plugs or spinners
i wish you all the luck if you put in the hours you will land a few bass and the mackeral wil be here soon
let us know how you get on cheers lad steve

there is a good book called BASS FISHING ON SHORE AND SEA BY JOHN DARLING it will give you some good tips to catch bass DONT BUY IT if you go in to your local library and they dont have it ask them to order it for you it may cost you 70 pence or may even be free depending on age then at least you have 3 weeks to read it then if youwant you can buy it try ebay it will be cheaper than local shops

as for the wind a bit never hurt anyone but my missus will disagree especialy after a curry devil devil devil
cheers mate and dont be afraid to ask questions we all want you to suceed

you cancatch mackeral on feathers but that can become boring as they canbe strong fighters on the right tackle nut pulling in6 every time on a beachcaster they dont show that off get a set of feathers from the tackle shop cast them out nd reel in try putting a bit of life in to them when reeling in by moving the rod about so they will look like bait fish

the best way is using a single lure on a spinning rod this will catch bassas well as mackeral use a plug or spiner and try to make that come alive when reeling in see in your tackleshop for spinners and lures there are hundreds of different kinds

i had 2 bass this week under 2lb both on lugworm but they will take crabs that are peeling there shell get the book from the library it will explain better and youcan see the picture i find that helps good luck
ay probs let us all know theres a lot of guys and gals who know cheers steve

On that sort of beach i'd deffinitly use a rotten bottom and if the tide doesn't pull too much use a leadlifter like gazza suggested. I've only gone for mackerel from harbour walls or boat, so can't really suggest anything for beach. for bass i'd take lug, rag, peeler or soft shell crab and sandeels as the main baits.
