Quite a few missing from that list, what about rays, tope, eels, gilt heads, sole, dabs, doggies, mullet and triggers, all of which I have caught or seen caught in the Solent area.

Hang on, My original post was suposed to be a quick guide for those new to sea fishing and that is why I hav'nt updated it.

If it was suposed to be a comprehensive list I would have swotted up on those that I don't know or am unsure about.

It was not suposed to be "Glasses Guide to UK Sea Fish" suprise

Just to clear things up between skate and ray's please refer to the following

As you can see there is a difference. I know it's confusing as most class them a a single species which is technically wrong.
