Hiya all
Has anyone out there had much luck with the thornys this yr? I have been over to the island of sheppy twice this year and three times last year without luck! No sure if I am fishing it wrong or what. Have been using sandeel, razorfish and ragworm for bait on a 3/0 pennel that is low to the lead on a 16in snood. Does anyone know what wind direction fishes best here? i have always gone for a S/W.I have never really targeted RAYS before so am unsure on traces and venues in kent. I have been fishing at the green car park in leysdown and at warden bay this year and also tried at minis bay last year which was hopeless due to the 8ton of weed I had hanging of my trace/leader knot!!!!
Any info would be greatly appreciated

| You are fishing in the right places with the right bait, I would advise Herring as most of the thornies caught have been on fish bait mainly herring, a lot of the thornies that have been caught at Minnis have been caught at low water by wading out then casting, Sheppy fish have come from Barton Point, Warden Bay and Leysdown but they have been few and far between, hopefully when the weather improves it will get better, keep at it |
