Hi, as some might know, i bought a conoflex flattie fanatic last week. The reel seat is adjustable but it doesnt go any further up the rod than half an arms length away from the butt. I believe the reel should be a full arms length away from the butt of the rod. So this reel seat wouldnt slide off either way so i thought if i put shrink tubing on it then the reel seat should get stuck at about an arms lenghth away. So i did it and now the reel seat is too far away and im having to try and fix this. Nightmare crying

Haha, not a bad idea with the weights there lol. I see the logic winking Ive had wd40 on it and my full weight pushing sown on it and it still wont move. Im scared of breaking the rod too. Is there a way of getting these reel seats off ya think?

Yea i tryed fairy liquid but its so tight now the fairy cant get down there lol. I thought of a solution though. And thats not to hold the rod (with my left hand) not at the very butt of the rod. cool Its still prety comfortable, but it makes the rod like half a foot shorter sad it was only 11ft anyway crying lol

My rods have adjustable reel seats on them. I had a similar problem with one of them.I solved it by, Un-srew both ends of the reel seat so they hang loose on the butt off your rod, Use a knfe or screwdriver to get underneath the seat and force a small gap(but don't over do it as you could break the edges) all you need is just enough gap to get oil down. Then get some 3 in 1 oil or slightly watered down cooking oil (you don't want anything thicker) and put some down both ends of the seat and leave for around 10 or 15minutes.Then twist the reel seat back and forth around the butt tto loosen it off (you might need to put more oil down both ends). When it starts turning carry on twisting it and ease it to the position you want it at,
Hope this helps

Ended up using a hacksaw and cuttin the piece of poo off. I slightly caught the rod while in the process. Hopefully it hasnt done any major damage. Im going to re-shrink tube it now, over the scratch too. So it looks spot on now happy Thanks for the help guys.
