Wonderful but I think we know that he was concerned about the number of votes he would lose. What is the "beach tax" you are talking about Gazza?

I wouldn't pay for a sea fishing licence anyway. Why should we with the sea getting more and more depleted every year by commercial fishing. Plus the fact that the money they'll get will only line their own pockets instead of going towards preserving the fish stocks what are left.

if they were going to use the money in a good way i'd be only too happy to pay a small fee, but we all know that wouldn't be the case.

Why should we pay for a rod licence when trawlers both from home and abroad are ripping up the feeding grounds by trawling close inshore. At the same time they are blatently catching undersized fish and getting away with it. Its about time the goverment got of their fat lazy bums and did something about it and then talk about rod licences. The fines imposed by our goverment are so pathetic that when caught they can afford to pay the fine and still show a profit. There is no deterant for these rouge fishermen. I think if I remember right, the world is composed of 2/3 water, and they want to charge us for fishing it. Next it will be a swimming licence, then a bathing licence, mabe charge the kids for paddling in it. No wonder folk are leaving Rip Of Britain. We are the third highest taxed country in the world. Look at the slipway launching fees for a small boat. The local councils can pluck a figure out of the air, multiply it by 3 then put VAT on it! I for one am not prepared to pay for something put there by GOD only to be harvested by YOUR goverment. Wake up you lot. You voted them in, or did you do like the majority (abstain).
Even if you slag me off it would be better than you all keeping quiet!
Hope you dont block this one Mrix |

well said rabbi , either way they will try to make money its a simple fact , even on ciggies fuel and beer they make to most for the goverment yet if everyone in this run down country would stop smoking drinking a driving there motors then yet another tax would come into effect to make to money up , packet of cigs 4.50 about 3.00 gbp goes to the goverment if they stopped ripping us off and like at other countrys it might be better for all but the uk goverment is kissing the arse of the other eu countrys and stop following the yanks aka ( bomb places then pay for it to be built again ) thats wasting money ,so now us ppl who love to spend time in the fresh air catching a few fish yet they close off footpath so we can no longer fish hotspots so overall we get **** once twice and three times over

Next time vote Monster Loony it can't be worse than the muppets who have let our seas be pillaged for the last 25 years.
None of them seem capable of working out that size limits don't work with trawlers, you just have to kill more undersized fish to get a catch worth landing and its about time they started taking the boats off those who have been landing "black fish".
