Hi all!!!
Just registered and you will probably see more on here from me cos i'm a keen newbie, been to a few places around s. wales lately from beach/pier to boat. Fished Penarth for the first time last week and had no joy just a small whiting, was a few people fishing down there and i was not too far from the pier but quiet all night and most of the others fishing there only stayed for roughly 2 hours. Went out on my regular boat from barry today and all i can say is.... POXY EASTERLY WINDS!!!! out of 14 rods in the water we had a total of 3 doggies, 5 whiting (getting bigger) and 1 small cod which is the worst ive seen so far but hey 'thats fishing' practically most baits were untouched after reeling in! more updates shortly!!!!
Nick. |

hi, colesy here.... I have just joined up, and like Watt and Nicksby the results from the shore are pretty poor. We (4 mates)normally meet up at a venue every Friday when the tides are right, last 2 weeks have produced doggies and whiting at Newton, whiting doggies and conger at Cold Knapp and sadly nothing at all but a few skinny whiting at Penarth. I also fish from my own sea jeep out of Newton, and have had an 'OK' summer, keep us posted guys and maybe we could arrange a meet and fingers crossed find a few codling this year? |

hi all in the last 2 weeks i have fished goldcliff, ranny bay the foreshore and battery point (portishead). up newport caught a flattie and a small codling returned. at the foreshore a nice flattie and small codling returned. ranny bay small codling returned. over battery point my bro caught a 5lb cod apart from that it was quiet all round. im hoping to get a lead in the water in the next few days, thats if er in doors takes my ball and chain off!!
the question is do i stay in wales or go over the bridge? here s wishing all members and guests a HAPPY NEW YEAR |

paulj why don't you try the severn estuary on the english side mate about 10-15 miles from the bridge where henry gilbey fished on fishing on the edge, ive been there before with a mate can't remember how to get there as i was resting my eyes so you will have to look it up, we had a few nice cod last year between 6-9lb |

Hi, guys. thought id venture out yesterday on my m8s boat out of cardiff. lovely day weather wise, fishing was hard work, one m8 blanked, the other had an undersize codling, i had an undersize codling and a codling around the 3lb mark. and i lost a nice fish as well. i enjoyed the day. but we had plenty of bait, but boats all around us were quiet as well.fish were caught but not in great numbers, fished the north cardiff. fish all caught on rag. cheers poach? |
