wotnofish, Im not trying to wind anyone up Im just giving my right of reply.
Just in the same way Mr_Me42 did.
Maybe it is you who should provide some sensible discussion and stop coming out with such childish comments. |

Come on chaps, let's stick together on this one. The only sensible way is refuse to buy a license, the money won't make any difference to fish stocks, how can it?
It's never going to work. Stopping trawlers operating up to our beaches is the ONLY way to help fish, nothing else will do. Can you see the Government agreeing to that? Of course not, so what's the point?
A 3 mile exlusion zone to all nationalities is the only way forward, and until something radical like that happens, to give anglers ( I prefer Anglers rather than fishermen) a good incentive to buy a license, I really don't see why we should.
You wouldn't buy a road tax disc on the understanding that one day, but not yet, you can drive your car on the road. We don't know when that will be, perhaps ten or twenty years, but you have to buy a tax disk every year just in case.
Would you buy that tax disc?
Anyway, I might go fishing tonight, before I have to push my way through a line of license police all along the beach! |

But there you go again !!!, picking holes in everyones comments followed up with an insult.
No debate or `sensible discussion` here just a playground argument.
I dont normally get involved with all this rubbish but I have to say its not what this site is all about. Take it elsewhere please. |

Well said Stuartdv - I can't believe that this has got where it has! Everyone is entitled to an opinion, fair enough. Everyone has a different view - again, fair enough. One thing that hasn't been covered so far is why some people behave the way they do. I go fishing - as a hobby as it has already been described on this posting - for fun. Some people might need to do it to feed their family or to keep a roof over their heads, and risk their lives to do it. So what if catches for us pleasure seekers are not what they were all those years ago? Surely that only increases the 'buzz' when we do get one?
As for any taxes - if the Govt needs revenue they will get it from somewhere. If they can't get it from 'easy wins' like certain hobbies/pastimes then they will get it from somewhere else.
Be constructive - don't just object because you might lose £25 from your wallet once a year - voice your opinions together to try and shape how the money is used to improve things. Sure it might not (probably won't) work, but neither will moaning at each other, refusing to pay, giving the sport up or, PubAngler, being downright rude, obnoxious, facetious, sarcastic and single-minded (ENTITLED OPINION). I have ridden motorbikes for years - never had an accident, avoided thousands of idiots in cars though. As for suggesting a ban on motorcycles, why don't we go the whole hog and get rid of B&Q, Focus etc because DIY is dangerous. Get real and please at least try to use reasoned, well-considered argument.
Top Tip - if you find that someone can counter your way of thinking with reason it is normally considered polite (and adult) not to resort to anger and petulant behaviour when responding. Ever considered using a different site to air your opinions?
Live and let live, and let this one go - I never thought this site was about hobby horses!
Good night and Merry Christmas. |

I am very pleased to hear, SURVIVOR, you have never had an accident, and I sincerely mean that.
I have had to tend to a dying motorcyclist on a motorway.
Minutes before his accident he passed me in my car weaving in and out of the traffic at speeds above 80mph, so unfortunatly all motor cyclists are not as careful as you as he paid the ultimate price.
I hope you now uderstand where I am coming from on this one and it will be the last time I write anything more about motorcycles.
We are all entitled to write what we like (OPINION) on this SEA FISHING SITE, I wholeheartedly agree with you some of the topics being raised should be aired on different sites including motorcycles and foxhunting.
And before you say anything, I am not being all the things you have called me, I would just like to see posts being kept to fishing which is what I thought this site was all about.
This sentiment applies especially to those MEMBERS who have nothing better to write about than "SPECIAL NEEDS".
Merry Christmas |
