Hi guys and thanks for the many replies. I did ask Santa for a floatation suit but the miserable bugger said something about not knowing my size so I went and purchased one myself. I went for the Blue sky one mentioned in my earlier post.
I got it on Friday but the obvious problem was that I could not try it on in the shop. Living fairly near this was not a problem. Off I went with my new suit to find out after 15 minutes or rolling back and forth on my bed trying to get the bottoms on to find that it did not fit me when sitting up. Obviously for the majority of you, you are upright but when sitting it makes a whole load of difference. I celled them up and asked if they had a larger size in stock and was it OK to change it. Not a problem so I changed it today.
Got home with one with a few 'XX'-s' in front of the size to find out that it was reasonably cumbersome to move in when sitting up. My son and I went off with my new gear but I found that once I have everything on I could hardly move. I do realise it is for safety but it also helps with the cold and wet but it was somewhat frustrating with the new suit on. I must say that I was warm but just uncomfortable when casting and moving around. I guess this is something I will get used to, well no option really but I look forward to warmer days and hopefully I will be more comfortable in the future. It goes without saying that I will keep you posted.
Cheers

I never had a flotation suit until quite recently. I used to layer up, but often found that in the worst weather this was never never enough!
After reading the following review I went for the Fladen suit....
http://www.anglersnet.co.uk/Tackle-And-Bait-Reviews/fladen_flotation_suit.html
I think a one piece or two piece is a matter of personal preference, but I opted for the one piece as it was slightly cheaper & I will be using it in cold winter conditions that wont require me to take a jacket off. If it's going to be a nice warm day then there will be no need for a warm flotation suit!! For me it's a winter garment for beach fishing.
I found the best price was here...

I dont have anything to compare it against, but it's a bloody good suit & I'm really chuffed to bits with it & most importantly its comfortable, waterproof, & warm. Its also easy to move around with it on.
Matched up with my pair of Sundridge Hot Foot boots I cant go wrong |
