when you collect mussels how do you get them of the stilted pier and what size should theye be and have theye got to be a certian type  |

| Prize the shell open from the blunt or fat end. Dont forget bait elastic. |

Use an oyester knife.If you do it at home, shell them thread on to a bait needle& tie them on.Take them of put on a tray/plate & freeze for a while, when you are ready to go try and keep as cold as possible.Even the ones from the fish shop work but are not free - happy fishin |

| No you can fasten them on just with shearing or bait elastic. |

| Basically a baiting needle has a point at one end and is hollow at the other end. What you do is to push the pointed end through the bait and the put your hook point into the hollow end and push the bait all the way up the hook. Hope this makes sense. keith |
