Well what more can i say about the weekend fishing. To say the least it was awful awful awful.

Went to bed around 8pm Thursday evening and got up Friday morning at 12.30am drove to Portishead to do some night fishing. Fished Portishead Pier till 6.40am, high water was around 3am at a 10m ish high tide. There was little or no wind and quite literally no action. Fished with combinations of squid, mackerel or prawn - with no success. As per usual with the BC once the tide started to ebb it starts to race away and enough is enough. Packed up and sat in the car until the bait shop opened at 8am to pick up some rag.

I then drove to Hopes Nose, Torquay, after stopping at Cullompton for a Maccy D breakfast. Fished from around 11am till 4pm with you guessed it nothing. Tried all sorts float, plugging, spinning, and on the bottom. There was just nothing - by 4pm the wind had kicked up and it was raining so i called it a day. Again tried various baits, squid, rag, mackerel, bluey, crab, prawn. From there i drove down to Plymouth where i stay.

Got up the next morning and drove to Trago and Newton to buy some ridiculously cheap fishing tackle with me dad. From there we drove on down and fished Brixham Breakwater. Fished all along it with the same baits with no avail. Again by late afternoon the wind was well up and rain was pushing and was all a bit silly so packed up.

Got up the next morning a drove to fish the Slapton and Beesands Open - well that was terrible. Must had been atleast 100 anglers, but again by 3pm the weather was horrendous. In the end there was 5 - 7ft breakers, heavy rain, strong wind and it was a living nightmare. Picked up some extra bait for this one including lug but again there was nothing happening. Saw about 4 fish weighed in from where i was - just terrible.

So over the weekend i drove over 500 miles over 3 days with 0 bites spent over £25 on bait but had a 100% fantastic time.

cheers

lee

Apart from do the opposite to everything i did, and dont go to those places and dont use those baits - no not really everything else is as you were. Just got to keep on trying.

Now I was whinging the other day about having driven (Well, been driven) about for over 100 miles to waste some bait, get cold and catch one whiting. I'll keep my trap shut now lol. Althoguh, I did go to mostly the same venues as you did there, Started at Mountbatten pier though. Strange how it is, just last week Hopes Nose nearly swam away under the torrent of whiting and pouting that swarmed the place, now it is dog city. Saying that, I blanked perfectly on Sunday, from Torquay. Good job that's only two miles away, or I'd have had another tantrum! crying
