Fishing at Crimdon Dean

A friend and I were planning on a camping trip and fishing at Crimdon Dean.

Does anyone know where the nearest bait shops are?

I think its possibly Peterlee or Hartlepool, but since were getting a lift there and neither of us drives, I'd like to try and find one as close as possible, probably using the bus.

Does anyone have experience of that area?

there are two bait shops in Hartlepool. I use North East fishing Tackle, they stock decent bait (rag fishes best) but I think they only get it in stock for the weekends. I'll be down there tomorrow thryi for a bassor two. It fish's best at low water by the way.
