Does anyone read sea fishing magazines, can someone reccomend any one in particular, something with good reviews and tips, aimed at a begginer.
Cheers as always

The two main sea fishing magazines are Total Sea Fishing and Sea Angler
I used them myself for a few years.
Cheers

Have a scoll down this forum as sea angler was debated not too long ago. I subscribe to sea angler but when it runs out i will consider not renewing.
It is a very biased mag with the same people, same places, same fish etc etc.
cheers

Prices keep going up and we get more adverts, bigger photos and less text. Of the two TSF is the better read, but only just. I always look very closely at the photos now as I feel that the are often "enhanced", and I only believe about half of what is written. Ask a question on here and you'll get a number of different answers maybe, but they will be honest answers (also silly sometimes ) and of course you can carry on the discussion after the initial answers. |

I have to agree the fishing magazines are shocking now, i used to read improve your sea angling and that was worth getting. sea angler just keeps going over the same subjects over and over. TSF i have not really read but it seems better than sea angler |

I have to agree with the rest on this 1 sea dangler, tsf are a total joke and waste of money.you will get all the information you want on fishin website's like this 1.ok you have good and bad fishing site's, some of the blokes on a fishing site will help you out, some will just give you Krap.I know as i had my fair share of krap of certain anglers on a certain web site.forget the mags mate. get your self down to the beach and talk to others they will tell you where is hot and where is not.
Ask questions on fishing site's dont worry if they sound stupid to you,we all had to learn somewhere did'nt we!!

I still get the sea angler as i forgot to cancel it this year , but I agree with most of the above the best way to learn is to chat with ppl either on the forums or on the beach mate. |

Having spent a bomb on coarse fishing magasines over the years I've no intention of making the same mistake now I've started sea fishing. The intention of these mags is that you all end up using the same expensive rods/reels/line/luggage/seat/bait/clothing/terminal tackle and look puzzled when someone with £5 kit from the market pulls out a lot more than you. |

Eh? Do Sea Angler & TSF have some mystic hypnotic powers forcing you to go out and buy top end gear? My wife has been looking for some explanation of why I "need" this and that piece of kit - now I have the answer- it's the magazines love- they make me do it. |
