fished hornsea again last nite . bagged up on whiting but my mate got a codling of 41bs. beach was packed so by the time word spread it had gained a few 1lbs. you know what fishermen are like. the dreaded weed was a problem early on but this cleared about top tide. Going to try somewhere different next time so will keep tou posted, by for now, fishyfingers. |

Either way, it's better than going back empty handed! If you don't mind me asking, which bait did you both use? |

Never had a bite with Squid, only crabs taking it. Is it true that if the Squid is pink then there is minimal chance of getting a bite on it? |

| hi Nem, dont know about that one, but years ago I used to be able to get brown shrimp and that was a crackin bait, now only pink ones are available and they are useless. so mayby theres some truth in it . |

| If your squid's pink, this tends to indicate that it's gone off. I would try getting it from a supermarket (it's often fresher) and don't be tempted to re-freeze any after your trip. You can get fresh shrimps on the south bank of the humber (there's an old guy that sells them) but I would stay away from pink ones (cooked ones). Hope this helps. |
