fished hornsea again last nite big grin . bagged up on whiting but my mate got a codling of 41bs. beach was packed so by the time word spread it had gained a few 1lbs. you know what fishermen are like. the dreaded weed was a problem early on but this cleared about top tide. Going to try somewhere different next time so will keep tou posted, by for now, fishyfingers. big hug

Either way, it's better than going back empty handed! If you don't mind me asking, which bait did you both use?

Never had a bite with Squid, only crabs taking it. Is it true that if the Squid is pink then there is minimal chance of getting a bite on it?

hi Nem, dont know about that one, but years ago I used to be able to get brown shrimp and that was a crackin bait, now only pink ones are available and they are useless. so mayby theres some truth in it .

If your squid's pink, this tends to indicate that it's gone off. I would try getting it from a supermarket (it's often fresher) and don't be tempted to re-freeze any after your trip. You can get fresh shrimps on the south bank of the humber (there's an old guy that sells them) but I would stay away from pink ones (cooked ones). Hope this helps.
