I'm guessing by your reply to Eccles on a different post that you're a junior angler- you may want your Mum or dad to contact a local casting club who usually encourage junior members to join in- you will get excellent casting tuition, starting you off with the right techniques and loads of fun and encouragement- you'll also get plenty of angling tips as well. Given you said you are from Bluewater I think Kent Sportscast is probably going to be the closest to you- they can be contacted on 01227 360107 - the contact name is John French. They advertise in Total Sea Fishing and he was the most recent contact for the club.
Hope this helps

You'd need to contact them to be honest- tuition is usually free when you go along to one of their practise sessions but they generally ask you to join the club just for insurance purposes- (leads flying and that) but membership tends to be very cheap- especially for juniors- I think last time I looked at a club in my area it was about £3.00 but like I say best contact Kent Sportscast to find out their policy. |

hi sacha
heard you need help with casting, well im a junior aswell im 14. i can cast about 90 yards using the pendulum cast. But to start off with use the off the ground cast. Also every time you go fishing you should have a few practice casts before you start your fishing. |

when i was 14 i was casting 100 yards with my shakespeare europa beach caster and ryobi project reel! but casting is a individual thing, tbh i can cast further off the ground in most conditions than using a pendulum. i would start with the easy cast.

i have done 190 yards with this cast so get practicing, well when the weather gets better!
good luck to you |

hi Sacha
If you want a good chance of catching cod, you should try oford ness out, its in suffolk . From where I live in south east london, it takes me n my dad bout 2 to 3 hours to get there. But you have to get a boat out from orford quay at 4pm and the boat comes and picks you up the next day at 8:30am. so your on the ness all night by the way there is nothing on the ness apart from shingle. Orford ness is ment to be one of the top marks in the country for catching cod, you only need to be about 30 to 40 yards out to catch cod there because the beach is so steep the water is about 15ft deep only 30 yards out i cant remember the detials for boat to catch to the ness but i have them somewhere and i will send them to you soon. |
