Recently bought a Salt beach and doing OTG style, it gets me out well over 100yds very light and easy to handle too. I choose the 12 ft because I do not like a big unwieldy rod. If you want something longer, they do a 13ft too which is spot on your price limit if you know where to go. As you are nearby to me Mesmo, you are welcome to have a bash with it mate if you like on a Hayling Beach. Just say the word.
PS Don't forget that Mike Thrussell had a hand in designing these.

Thanks eccles I would love to take you up on that ! How about the 3am tide tomorrow?

Concrete above was kind of right when he said I was inexperienced ..... I have finished alone for practically 20 years and was taught by father who bless him still ties granny Knots for practically everything .... so I have fished for a very long time and learnt nothing really

So now I am attempting to make up for that and ensuring that I have decent tools for the job

Going back to the K2 I have been a fixed spool guy all my life so it wouldnt be a loss as i could use it on that and keep the Mag Elite for another rod that I have albeit it needs a new ring ... That being a Greys

You guys had me concerned so i did a bit more surfing to establish whether this K2 was for a fixed spool or a multiplier

I came accross this

Shakespeare K2 Extreme Titanium Rods (1372)

The most innovative three piece beachcasters on the market. The K2 Extreme Titanium range has been designed by the Shakespeare sponsored World Champion beach fishing team. A new hi tech manufacturing process has been incorporated using high modulus carbon blanks with a Titanium X Wrap providing the ultimate power casting rods. Fitted with unique triangular shaped SIC guides for distance casting - they will cast up to 7oz with ease.
- Triangular SIC guides
- Full screw winch reel fitting
- 421/451 and 501 fitted with UK manufactured coasters
- Shrink tube handle grip
- Push in joints
- Glazed tip

Model / Length / Sections
420 / 14ft Fixed Spool / 3
421 / 14ft Multiplier / 3
450 / 15ft Fixed Spool / 3
451 / 15ft Multiplier / 3
500 / 16.8ft Fixed Spool / 3
501 / 16.8ft Multiplier / 3

So yes it is specifically for a multiplier

Hmm I must say they look remarkably like a larger version of the Salt Range, personally I will stick with my shorter rod as it has got to be much easier to handle when I poking around Hayling trying to find my next decent bass.
