I have just started fishing the channel and need to update my gear. I would welcome some advice on what multiplier would suit the job. Mainly shore fishing is my aim with the occasional uptiding. Budget est £100

Along with the reel i need a new beach caster and again advice would be welcome. Budget £150.

Thanks

Hi Mate,

I use an Abu Conolon Exodus 12.9 Beach caster, cost £120 I'm in Devon and got mine online from www.anglingcentre.net which is the Devon Angling Centre just outside Kingsbridge. To avoid dissapointment I would strongly advise you ring first to see if they have any in stock as can take a long old while to deliver if they don't.
I would advise that with ANY online shop to be honest bit I'm sure you know that. They all seem to forget to say on the site when something is out of stock. Apart from Veals who are very good.

Anyway, I only use Abu reels but that's just choice and the fact I like them a lot. The 7500 series is a very robust reel that should manage any situation. The Abu Seven is a bit lighter but still a very solid reel. Also take a look at the Ambassadeur Mag Elite reel. Very nice.

Hope that helps.

Cheers Stiigler, i will check them out.

I am going to Budleigh Salterton for a few days in July with the family and am looking for an escape, is there any good spots worth a go?

I've got a Daiwa Supercast and I use a PennSupermag Extra on it. It's a good combo. If you shop around you might get the two for around £250.

I claim nothing. I was born with a wooden spoon in my mouth. Hardened the gums nicely-it was the splinters! We were so poor, me and my brother used to go to school on alternate days-we only had one uniform!
