By the way, the biggest problem as I understand it is hand to mouth contact. eg work with lead, don't wash hands, put fag in mouth. Each time there is a transfer of lead into the body. |

hmm...I work with lead at work. Some jobs require lead letters, which has me sitting all day banging lead into the stone all day.
Never heard that it will get into your blood stream. Kind of like Mercury, just less poisonous I guess.
Will have to look into that, how do you go about getting checked? |
If you work with lead, have you heard of "Metal Fume Fever" Or heard it mentioned at work? I know You can get it from Inhaling fumes from Zinc and magnesium, but im almost certain you can get it from lead and too.....
Its not all that nice, it makes you feel like youve got a real bad case of the flu to start with, but can lead to some nasty after effects. So if and whenever i mould any leads, both the garage doors stay open throughout.
Aswell as that you could always get a case of lead poisoning |

The ideal pan for melting lead is the old heavy iron pan as this retains the heat. An aluminium pan can be quite dangerous. Although aluminium heats up quickly it also loses the heat just as quick and the handles tend to be flimsy with the amount of weight in it. Cheers keith |

Free lead is readily available on the roof of most churches and some schools.
Happy to help. |

Although I have posted this before somewhere down the line, Lead can be obtained from your local gun club air rifle pellets ect, if you offer to sweep up for them you will more than likely get it for nowt, or on the other hand visit your local tyre and wheel balancing fitters and same again the balance weights will be vey cheep.
