I have come to the conclusion that very few Welsh know anything about fishing and are generally pretty tight: I made an enquiry last year about the Swansea area and got zilch replies. Thought I would try again this year but again absolutely nothing. I conclude that it must be that the English should come to Wales, do our own explorations and see what is to be had then teach the Welsh how to do it. Or am I wrong? ( have already heard that the tackle shops overcharge for bait which seems to make sense. |

Overcharge for bait ?
£16/lb for rag makes yer eyes water as much as pouring 'em down yer Y-fronts.
Try Pembrokeshire, lots of English there !
I have got some more Pembs and Cardigan marks to add to my blog when I get my photo files. |

Is this an actual joke - or a statement meaning that Wales is a bad place for English fishermen.
I have only known the Welsh to always speak highly of you Eccles  |

I don't know what would get a bigger political reaction - the commercials devastiating fish stocks or Eccles devastating the Welsh tourist industry.
Sounds like it's going to be an interesting summer. |

Hey you guys, I am just trying to provoke some sort of re-action. I have a mate in Swansea and may visit him again this year if I get an invite. He doesn't know a lot about fishing although he has some gear so I thought Swansea Bay ought to be good for sole and asked a question on the Welsh section - nearly 40 views but no-one has the decency to answer. It was the same last year. You would think I might get the courtesy of a reply would you not? |

You'd like to think so eccles, but I had exactly the same response when I tried to get information before visiting my dad in Pembrokeshire last year. We always visit the same places and wantd to try somewhere new.
However, I would say that the fishermen we've met in Wales are always helpful and friendly. |

Re Eccles point about number of views but lack of replies- I wonder if it has something to do with people just lookng at the 20 latest topics on the home page rather than go into a specific forum which is relevant to a particular location/interest/area. I have to admit I do just look at the top twenty rather than go into a specific forum- maybe the top twenty home page could say in which forum the particular post is located |

Or it might be that people in Wales don't have electricity.

I'm not a pheasant plucker, I'm a pheasant plucker's son, I am only plucking pheasant's till the pheasant plucker comes. Try saying that when you're rat-faced.
Well done for replying Pheasent Plucker, and I am sure we all look forward to seeing how you can change our views about the Welsh. Lol. |

I will try, to the best of my ability and knowledge to help and give information to others about areas that I fish as should everybody else that uses this forum. This should be a site that we could all visit and work together in a sport that we all obviously love. So if you read a post, and from that area, but don't have any direct info, at least try and point that person in the right direction and give them some information to go on, don't just read it and give it a damn good ignoring. Remember, there's no "I" in team! |

At least the hit count for Wales went up ...
I actually like Wales. Had many a pleasant weekend on Anglesey, drinking beer and watching the world go by.
Never fished there though - I even had a boat.
Oh well. |
