Excellent demonstration Rocket.
Would small hardback crabs fished this way work too?
I have noticed you visit the pier mid-week fairly regularly, and as these are the only days that are truly viable for myself to fish this venue I fully intend to be there and learn as much as possible from you, if you are willing to teach me. ( Iwant to do 'real' fishing not just 'talk' fishing  )
As I live in Westcliff, and I think I know the 'old path' that you refered to in another thread regarding collecting peeler crabs, perhaps we could meet up and you could advise me on this matter too. I have difficulty telling whether the crab is a peeler or not, even though I try the normal 'rear leg' test.

The next time I go down the pier midweek you are more than welcome to join me for a session, I can probably guarantee that you will catch something or you will come away knowing how to fish the pier correctly. I will pm when I go next, but most times I go its a last minute decision.
With regards to the crabs, don't even bother with the hardback your wasting your time, give it a few weeks and I can show you how to collect them in mass, and how to tell the difference betweend a peeler and a hardback without even removing its legs. |
