Hey guys, I'm new here so I just thought I'd say hi.
I go fishing out to sea quite often and love it. I'm female and none of my mates enjoy it, so I have no one to talk to about my adventures out at sea apart from my skipper!! Hope you guys don't mind me boring you!
Vix.

Thanks big grin
I mostly fish from a boat as I know the skipper so he takes me out quite often, but I sometimes fish from the pier aswell. I fish on the east coast of england, mostly off wrecks. Where abouts do you fish?

Hi Vix. I don't think it's possible to bore us. A female who likes fishing  I can't think of anything less boring  . Hope you have more luck than Medlar and I lately. We fish the North East Coast (unsure if it's anywhere near you or not though). The fishing has been very poor South of the River Tyne but has been okay North of the River Tyne. Like Medlar I like to fish rocks and piers (although decent rock marks are by far more productive). Good luck Vix and welcome to our forum

Hi Vix

Could you not have used it for bait? I'm unsure how good it is but I know squid can be a killer bait. Although part of the same family I'm not sure if they have the same effect. Could save you a few quid though.

Yeah I could have done couldn't I. I use squid as bait at the moment and I don't have to pay as I have my connections  !

Connections. mmmmm. Not the the mafia are you? How far down the coutry do you fish? Is it usually good fishing down there? For some reason it's very poor in Sunderland at the moment but about 10 miles North up the coast the fishing is good. It seems we are in the twilight zone up here. Maybe fish don't like us mackems.

Damn, you guessed my secret identity! 8O

I fish in and around Bridlington bay and Flamborough head and it's quite good for fish at the moment.

It's somewhere near that stiucky out bit just above Bridlington on that picture.

Think I'm off in a bit actually. Hope I don't catch another octopus!

I was out last was out last weekend with a couple of mates but caught nothing. I was the only one getting bites all night and caught a fish but as it surfaced it had a final shake and off it went love struck . I'll be out this weekend again up Northumberland and after a week of decent swells I'm hoping it will be a little better. I'm going on my first boating trip in the north sea (only been abroad on boats and in torquay when a young'un) with a bunch of my mates and a load of beer. Really looking forward to it. Are you out again soon? The mackrel should be close in in the next few days as it looks perfect conditions (nice waether, small tides and little wind).

Hi Vix

Have you been out again lately? I'm boat fishing this weekend up the coast of northumberland. What do you think the best way to fish off a boat is? Jigging or baiting. I was also wondering about baits. I have been told to get rag but I was also thinking of squid. As the rag worm will be from a shop I can imagine they will only be small. Is this ok to use small rag but maybe putting a few together? Any tips chick?

Mog
