Ive only been fishing a couple of years and i only do mackeral fishing but the problem is i dont catch very many.
I use spinners and have recently started using a few feathers last year but they dont seem to help.
if anyone can help i wold really appreciate it.
Please email tips to Leeverrill@hotmail.com
Thankyou very much |

Just look for the right tides and try to keep on the move. Look out for boils on the surface and for terns diving. Cast straight into them. |

If you fish with a light beachcasting outfit, use a string of Mustad tinsel lures (make sure you have them the right way up, the loop goes to the bottom) and use a 60gm dexter wedge instead of a plain lead.
This set-up is very good at attracting mackerel, bass too.
Tight Lines. |

Cast out and reel in, as your reeling in pull the rod all the way back and then reel in the slack. It gives the lures a better swiming attraction. I find hokais are exelent too. |

Keep your eyes on the weather forecast mate: Directly we get some fine warm weather anytime after mid May, they will start to turn up. You then need to pick a day when high tide is anytime from around 11.30 onward. There are usually particular areas where they like to come in. I know my local area (Hayling) pretty well and can virtually predict when they are likely to come in but that would not be the same for elsewhere. Best thing is to tell us where you are thinking of going and someone will probably know the likely spots. |

if you can get to a pier just dangle the line over about 10ft off the bottom and lift your rod up and down couldn't be simpler. bloody boring mackerel fishing IMO but there you go |
