I'm looking for a good, strong, low diameter line. I have seen Teklon Gold and it looks like what I want. Anyone here like/dislike it? Anyone got other lines they prefer?
I'm looking for both main line (say 18lb) and shockleader (say 50lb). Want low diatmeter preferrably. |

I have tried many quality lines but my favourite is Ultima Red Ice 15lb
I found it to lay well on the spool and is very strong for the diameter  also its cheaper
Cheers

This question comes up regularly and it's still Sufix Tritanium in red for my mainline. Sufix also do shockleader, but I have been trying Mustad Ayaka in clear and have been very pleased with it. It is fairly abrasion resistant and it knots really well. I rarely use a shockleader more than once, but I have been able to with the Mustad line. |

This sounds like a ridiculous question Mr C and I'm probably not phrasing it very well- but how do you know whether or not you can use a shockleader more than once- what I mean is what is it about the Mustad leader that you feel comfortable using it more than once compared to others that you wouldnt use more than once?
If that makes sense??? |

I'll run my fingers along the line and if there are any signs of abrasion or damage, Ill bin it. |

I have it on good authority that he checks his biological terminal tackle using the same method.......for at least ten minutes every session!

I too use Mustad shockleader, also Mustad rig-body and snood-line (low memory) and Mustad main-line (very supple); in fact, I only use Mustad tackle (apart from weights). Their 'end-bit' products are small, neat and very reliable.
I fully recommend their Ayaka shockleader.
Tight Lines. |

I rather like the Ultima stuff. Just about to try the red ice for the first time but if its like the other ultima line, it'll be good, strong and resistant to delamination unlike berkley trilene which just end up looking like a christmas tree after a session on gravel! Shockleader-greased weasel but I bought some Ultima stuff today and will give it a try this weekend. |

"Only my wit and humour"
- that's a pretty good line for airports when you're asked "have you got anything sharp or dangerous" at the check in.

Tried a few shock leaders but sticking with Greased Weasel, soft for it's thickness and stands up to wear well. |
