with regards to lights on the cheap lads, i found tk maxx always has a good selection, for around 2-3 squid mark, i got one multi function, 5-12 leds plus flashing. and i found 3aa will last me 3 all nite sessions with no fade..... all for 1.99, always worth checkin out!!. I also found that our teenage girls were getting glo bangle thingys from party shop (similar to starlights but 6in long) you can pick up a pack of twenty multi coloured for 2squid, bit of elec tape on top n bottom and your off, and can be seen from a distance if you have to leave ya rod. |

Good advice mikee75 but do you realise that the best by far and more modern LEDs are the Cree 5 watts. They are miles brighter than the old pale blue types where they have to put several LEDs in the lamps to get anywhere near the same brightness as the single Cree LEDs that you get in the up to date jobs like the Lenser and the one I showed above which give a pure white light.
They are trying to unload all the old fashioned LEDs now by putting them loads of them in other cheap lamps but there is a huge difference with a Cree I can assure you. Ask Cuckoo if you don't believe me, I bought one for him and he was over the moon. |

It is all very well buying cheap if it lasts, and also a lot of cheap lights do not have red light on them which I find I do use alot when approaching the water or when light needs to be kept to a minium.

personally only use red light whilst after bass or swffing in the dark.otherwise red light is not going to benift your fishing.keep head light usage to a min |

may have purchased same ones off ebay.i bought four for 4quid.bright lights but i think ,personally ,they look a bit bulky.havent used them yet.just wondering how the bulkyness will affect the rod action on casting.i know locally ,casting 60yrds at nite is enougth.but when ai fish further down the coast,100yrds plus puts you amongst the fish.

They do look a bit bulky Mick if they hamper the cast I will use star lites when distance is needed,But have worked out how to hold them secure on rod, band top and bottom plus a band inbetween rod and light pulling the 2 bands tight.(sad life I got to be doing that in the evening LOL)

This is the rod tip light that I use, I have whipped the shoe onto the rod tip and insert the light only when needed.

Thanks for the pics Keith I do use these lights on a couple of my rods and find the shoe does help to hold on the starlites.I fell for the lights I just purchased because how bright they looked on ebay(probally not the only one) they are very bright just waiting to see what they are like on the beach as Mick said bulky lights.

I use the Enterprise tackle tip light holders and an isotope thats used in Carp fishing. Ive had the same ones on my barbel rods for 3 years now. Ment to last up to 8 years. so works out cheap. |
