Cant see why its not worth a go .But also if you stuff your own buy a pack of party squid and had some peelers that you have gathered in the freezer much cheaper.

Hi Ant mate, as you may be aware there are many inovations on the market that are designed to catch fishermen and not fish.
I suspect that the reason you have been told not to waste your money is the fact that there is no subsitute for fresh bait if you can get it. Failing that frozen comes second best.
A lot of people overlook the most obvious as an example the more you know about a subject the more you forget the basics.
A typical example is that there are tons of bait out there for free, the humble mussel is a prime example. Pier stansions and mussel beds are great providers for free bait without all the hard work of digging or pumping.
OK, I know what your thinking (I will have to use bait elastic) well so what? this is no more than the cost of 10 worms and will last you a hell of a lot more time than 10 worms.
Cheers

Cheers Keith
I have only ever really used the normal rag and lug worm with a tip of squid to stop the worm from running off
Im always up for trying new baits and different ways if using bait
I will give your advise ago and if dong work your the worst fisherman of all time lol |

It's a killer bait for flatties mate, dont do as a lot do by pouring hot water on them to firm them up as it kills the natural juices.
Cheers

hi anthony
my reasons are simple i bought the first lot and the squid was pink where it had been thowed out and then re frozen when i spoke to the supplier he said sorry and sent me another lot at the cost of the posting and packegeing .arived in the same state .squid pink dried out and no juices so no good to man or fish
cheers steve |

Hi have you tried lug stuffed squid? use large whole squid using pennel rig.remove guts and quill. first hook through top of squid into the centre and not through to other side. pull into middle of squid, second hook through same hole into middle of squid. slide squid up the line. hook two fat lugs onto top hook through the head. Slide squid back down over lugs. push point of top hook out through side of squid and bottom hook either leave loose just showing at bottom of squid or push through side of squid then bait elastic. killer bait for larger fish and keeps the damn yting and crabs off the lug. |
