Diawa tournament or f1 or sensor line is a great choice. 15lb breaking strain max |

Have used Okuma Ultramax for the last 4 years because it's not stiff, takes a lot of punishment and yet is relatively cheap. |

No doubt but it's more than twice the price of the Okuma and no better. |

ive not used the okuma so cant comment on that but the tritanium is by far better quality than anything i have used. it also works out very cheap if you buy the bigger, 4000m spools. |

and according to this,
http://www.anglersnet.co.uk/authors/dave02.htm
the tritanium is 10times better than the F1 for abrasion, and comes in with 4lbs stronger than it on a 15lb rated line. |

i was using it the other day in .35m 15lb with 60lb leader, 60lb mainline on the rigs and 30lb amnesia snoods fishing for dogs, huss and ray. its rough enough ground for about 40yards and not so bad after that.
on one retrieve i got snagged but had a fish on, eventually after a bit of rod bending i got it free to find the bottom hook (size 1 b940) had straightened.
that puts it strong enough for me.
i got 4000m for €27 which makes it very good value for money on a bulk spool. i wouldnt use anything else. |
