Hi sorry for not pin pointing an area but I have 11 days to kill in April, so i can go anywhere in Scotland so thats why i did not say North East or West.
Having said that I fancy west coast..

No problem Ian....the west coast is not an area i fish at all so i wont be able to help you out much.....the solway I hear is good for bass and there are many rock marks for decent pollack as well but dont know about any further up as i think most guys tend to travel east.
Loch Etive is near Oban and throws up many species try having a search on here for Loch Etive and you should find some info..
