I thought I had better let everyone know who won.
Kopite Col and crew i can humbly say
Losers !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Admiral Cabbus and the Motley crew
Came saw conquered and Whooped their Buttts
Well Done the winning crew and the overall winner
The Shadow Lee
Hip Hip Hooray the Cabbus Crew
Well where does one start ????????
Bide your time as i will be adding pics and saving the post as i go.
Being as the cafe wasn't open on two tree Island i decided to phone the skipper and see if we could cook some bacon butties on the boat
So a collection of Redleg (Paul) and a stop off at Tesco and we were there. The car park was like a skating rink as the rise in temp had not assisted in thawing it yet.
Usual banter chat and dressing in our flaoty#s and we walked the short distance to the waters edge.
Me baing me hung back as i had my one armed secret weapon to keep my eye on.
What a fool as walking with my box and rods i went bum over boob in the ice and ended up lay in the snow like an angel oops, much to snaggers amusemenet and no snagger i am not going to lie in the snow just so u can take a picture of me !!!!!!!!
Luckily a lot of the lads didn't see my fall and embaressment as they were all waiting to board the skiffs.
We pootled out to the Girls Mandy and boarded for the days adventure.
Wat a motley crew i possess
Happy smiling faces all of them !!!!!! or is it wind lol lol
As always we had an unruly aston on board doing what he does best !!! Eating lol lol
Although he was far too smug for his first cast of the day as he was into a fish one of the many Whitings....(But he onlay caught one all day and kept winding up my mate Ducker all morning
He had to be punished !!!!!!!
(moderated by the losing captain)
In true Admiral Cabrat style i punished him with the aid of Griegg and Smagersaurus
I'm a hard but fair leader lol lol
But i think he did enjoy that a little too much for my liking lol lol
We continued all day catching whiting even double shots on some rigs.
But huge respect to our new boat virgin on breaking his duck not once but twice
One Whiting and one Dab.Young Telboy hats off to you sir on your new experience..
Just to prove it see below.
But respect to young Shadow on not only catching the biggest fish but having several of the little gits.
We not only wieghed them but also measured the larger ones.
The morning was not too cold and dry the Tea's and coffee were frequent Thanks Trevor and crew and the banter was as always full on.
The rain showed its ugly face and the temp dropped a lot aroung 3.30pm but we already had fished and caught 3 fish over the pound mark which was all we needed to get the first place and me my captains hat
We came in a little early and grounded on the low water as we were that early for the draught of the boat but we managed to moor up jump aboard the skiff and Pass the LOSERS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! shouting our kind remarks..
After we had got the all weather gear off and chatted for a while the other Crew(The losers ) trundled up the jetty and made their way into view.
Well what can be said, their boat had not manaaged a whiting over a pound(We had 3 at least ) so through gritted teethDemoted and dejected Kopite had to accept defeat
As i Knelt to get the hat placed on my head the sore loser kicked snow at me lol lol lol.
The trophy presented to lee along with the winning money and it was all over.
Victory for Admiral Cabrat and the best crew anyone can ever ask for
For being the loudest proudest and most energetic has beens we are now all winners in our own right
Well done Unruly crew
Huge congrats to Shadow as overall winner
But please can you all commend and thank
Kopite and Macer who less than 24 hours before sailing found out that one boat had pulled out and had the unenvious task and pressure to rearrange and organise with so much to do and so little time well done to both of you.
Admiral Cabbus salutes all those who took part but most of all the winning Cabbus Crew........ |

well they say there is two sides to every story.........here's mine!!!
sorted out with my skipper about doing bacon butties and then told captain cabbus.........who then jumped on the band wagon and took the credit ..(yawn).
not to be out done, me and conehead had a full english before setting off to the butchers and getting some very good thick cut, smoked "luxury" bacon for our crew! we didnt fall over on the jetty and spew cooking oil all over our bag and the jetty either lol.....environmentalist have been on to bp today trying to find out where the slick eminated from.
we set off full of hope (and eggs, bacon, black pudding, mushrooms, sausage, fried slice and buttered bread) and were immediated ghosted by a seal.......the crew grew fond off said seal and wanted to name it.....being the jolly fools that they are, they wanted to call it dave aka cabrat, that was till i pointed out seals are very good at catching fish!
every time we anchored up a noisy red boat moored close by and disrupted our quiet pleasant angling......discarding various pollutents into the water upstream of us and spooking the 'swim'. we could often hear a northern voice shouting and laughing (it sounded like avid merrions mel b)
fishing was verry slow to say the least..although for the first hour we did put lots of fish back because we felt sorry for them......two or three were at least 1lb 5oz!!!
youll regret that i said!!!
to cap it all we got stuck in the creek....only to be passed by that noisy red boat full of reprobates again!!
colin the skipper took us to numerous hot or secret marks....but to no avail lol. he tried his best but cabrats crew were more determined with so much more to prove.
the facts...(grapes which are somewhat sour!)
kopite won the hat outright and still has the bigggest fish across all three comps! (not to self, order a new trophy just for that!)
joking aside...............well done dave me ole mucker......you so deserve it with two years of flack under your belt! enjoy it while it lasts wooohahaha
well done my lads... you made it look like you were trying, let cabrat win without him knowing.....now that is sportsman like conduct!

What a lovely picture of Captain cabbus on the Girl Mandy giving a team talk.
Yes you did find out the cafe on two tree island was shut and phoned your skipper.
Being as you wouldn't give me Trevor on the Girl Mandy's phone number i searched it my self and sorted it out.It wasn't a seal it was one of the forum members in a seals outfit scaring the fish lol lol lol
Cheers ???????
The thing was i actually cooked my crew bacon butties on deck to gain respect and get the commararderie going.
I actually caught fish yesterday the only one I believe the defeated captain caught was i believe was a spratt foul hoooked in your line not even on a baited hook lol lol.
And i think that was one of our discarded baits lol lol
DEA dead on arrival lol lo.
thanks Redleg for the crowning of the hat picture, shame you didn't get the kicking snow at me as i knelt where it was proof and a half how far i had got under Kopites skin as our huge Whiting won the comp lol lol.
Bring it on Next time
I want my victorious crew to retain the title next time. |

I would just like to say we may have lost the angling comp . But we had the best captain and bacon sandwiches , that bacon was awesome.not some cheap back of the van ASDA gear that some captains would and did serve up for there motley crew. kopti next year i would like to be part of your crew ,. if i am allowed a space after my dreadful performance great day really enjoyed myself.especially when we got stuck on the mud and passed by captain chaos ,,,,good to meet all you chaps and thanks for being part of the best forum on the net well done captains or should i say kopti and macer for your organising skills ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,allright you as well cabbus

Hi all,
Just thought I would put on some pice that I took on the comp, I just about
had time to take these between all the fish our boat was catching
Here's one for all those that missed Cabus on the floor
here's one of the losing team on there way to a doomed day's fishing :
a couple of the winning crew preparing for action
Roy laying down on the job as usual
This is turn-coat of the day Paul
At one point this stood as the comp winner
Lenny & the comp winner Lee
New man on a mission ( 2 species well done Telboy )
Admiral Cabrat
Yes Greig, that is what a whiting looks like
My Bro In law Jimmy caught this one in his sleep as you can see
who is the very handsome fisherman oh it's me
and last but by no means least, Lenny ( Ducker )
Thanks to Colin for organising the day,
Hope to see you all at Walton Pier on Sunday,
Tight Lines All,
Tim ( Snagger ). |
