Hey Rabbi your braid problem is that Ron thompson cable braid , you should try the Berkley Radial braid its no problem at all on multi,s.
Any way for mono lovers Tronix are now selling spools of 15lb line with a tapered leader built in at the perfect length for Abu 6000 multi,s .
Just found this http://abuambassadeur.co.uk/penn525lefty.html could be just right for the job if you like penns. |

thanks for all the advice given
Ive been looking for a Abu 6501C3 Inshore but cannot find much info about them. Nothing on the official web site
As for trying a right hand wind.... its never going to happen. ive been fishng for about 20 years and always been using left hand wind FS wheels. its even a brave move to switch to a multiplier lol
i tried a few casts of my mate multipler and i did not have any issues. must of been a well set up reel but winding the lead back in was another story. It was awkward i was really clumsy handling the rod in my left arm
the sloshs would of been ideal shame they are all right hand wind
i swear more people are more comfortable winding with their left hand |

The problem with the lefty Penn (something that can be done with most reels with an instant anti reverse bearing) is that the gear lever ratchet switch etc are all in the opposite position which can feel just as weird as reeling wrong handed - the other point is that the gears are "handed" so its possible they might not live quite so long - the design of some pinion gears could see you having problems as well - the obvious one is the old 2 slot ABU pinions which have a slope on one side of the slot. its a game to play with extreme caution. |
