Hi guys/girls, not sure if you generally do this on here, but seeing as Im new to this forum,I thought I'd do a quick post to say hi.and introduce myself.
Although new to this forum,I have however been sea fishing on and off (due to geographical location) for around 10years,first starting when I moved up north with work,I then ended up on the north east coast around Durham.
I now however live back down south,on the border of Essex and Suffolk,so not exactly close to the sea,but hey,Ive got to make the most of things.
I've just got from a weeks holiday down to Dorset, and subsequently spent a few days on Chesil, with Bream,Scad and the obligatory mackeral to my name.
If there's any guys/girls (not wanting to be sexist) not far from me who would'nt mind me joining them on any future sessions,a few pointers probably wouldn't go amiss. (have van,and can load it up if needed) winking
Ps. after a matching pair of beachcasters, been looking at the Budget range of Diawa emcast surf rods, but reviews are few and far between, has anyone used,or got one?
Hopefully not bored too many to sleep big grin
Cheers, Tim.

Hi Tim, a warm welcome to the forums not my area but if you put a post in the South forum Im sure you will get replies from the local lads.
Have a look at the shakespeare or Fladden range of rods if running on a budget.
Cheers

Hi Tim, welcome mate and If you ever fancy a trip to kent i.e Dungee, Denge, Hythe, Deal, Dover, Sandwich ect we (Matt & Clive) would be happy to buddy up their are some great marks here depending on what your after. I have fished using quite a few diferent entry / mid level rods and in my opinion the best allrounder is my greys grx-s so you might want to consider them, or for a bit more money or just get 1 for now my boy (matt) would recomend the daiwa supercast, really light yet can cope well with the rough stuff.

Good luck
Clive & Matt

Thanks for all the welcomes guys happy
On the rod front,I currently use one penn surf blaster, which I got primarilly for use on the Norht East coatline, which,is unforgiving to say the least, its a tad overgunned for general use as its far too stiff, and my other (embarrassingly crying ) is a boot sale job,Its a 13ft silstar, which is the total opposite of the surf blaster,is soft as heck,so tends to wobble about loads in a rough sea,but is perfect for smashing out some feather 120yds.
I just thought a matching pair would be a good idea,as then bites would be easier to spot than having two different rods that acted totally different,I'll take a look at all the rods suggested above winking
To Clive and Matt, one of my fishing buddies suggested the kent area,he mentioned Romney, but I hear a lot of good stuff from Deal pier, and the reports of hounds got me very interested,so may well head down there some time soon.
Thanks again guys big grin
Tim
